MORE VISITORS

Last night Ryan's friends Matt & Becca came over to see me. Well Becca came to see me, Matt and Ryan were playing video games.

Becca having fun with feeding...

And I'm happy with the results.

That's me and the other baby in the house (the white fuzzy one).

MY FIRST BATH

Another item to check off the list... my first real bath. And I love that warm water and washing my hair.

But I am not a fan of cooling off and being naked!

WOW, VISITORS!

Hey, I got to entertain guests yesterday. Our friends the Desharnais came by, they brought cookies for Mom & Dad and some new clothes for me! Then Miss Vickie got to hold me, that's a treat! OK, when's Story Hour?

MOM'S STROLLER DRIVING...

... makes me close my eyes and hold on for dear life!

MY OLYMPIC SPORT

Here I am practicing for my Winter Olympics event - The Luge.

I'll be eligible in 2024.

WHO I LOOK LIKE TODAY

While Dad was feeding me breakfast this morning he said I look like Aunt Carole's baby pictures.
Next week I'll probably look like Diane or Lydia. That's OK as long as I don't look like Jack!

MY 2 WEEK VISIT

Mom and Dad took me to the Pediatrician tonight. I saw Doctor Elizabeth Olson (she saw me at the hospital) and she was nice.
I'm in the 50th percentile, Mom says that's good. I weigh 8 pounds and 4 ounces, right where I was when I was born!
The nurse that measured & weighed me was named Elizabeth too, that's a good sign I think.

The Doctor is very happy with me, holding my head up, strong grip and big smile. Then I was so happy that I pooped for her!

Mom and Dad were told it's time for tough love. Putting me to bed, in my crib, when they think it's bed time, not when I think it's bed time.

I go back in two months for my next check up and immunizations.

PLEASE LET ME SLEEP

My Dad makes me stay up and watch the Olympics with him every night. Here I am passed out during platform diving, apparently not a compelling sport when you're only 12 days old.

I DON'T WANNA GROW UP

WEE! Mom & Dad took me to Toys R Us today!
We made friends with a pregnant lady and her husband. They are five weeks away from their new baby.
I met an older man too. He's 4 months old, and boy was his head big!
Then we picked out some great new outfits for my trip to the Adirondack Mountains in a couple of weeks. I hope Aunt Barb likes them as much as I do.
Dad didn't have any luck finding new Star Wars toys (He's got plenty already!).

8 IS MY LUCKY NUMBER

The Chinese might be on to something with this numerology thing after all...
The Olympic Opening Ceremony was on 8-8-08, starting at 8:08 PM. I was born on 8-8-08, and weighed 8 pounds. And when I turned 8 days old, Michael Phelps won Gold Medal number 8.
Hooray for 8 !!!

SEPARATED AT BIRTH

OK, You decide.
Here's our girl Maddy...

And here's Al Bundy...

Uncanny isn't it?

MADDY IS HERE!

Sorry not to have posted in a while but we've been busy. Please welcome Madelyn Elizabeth, the latest production from Allen & Lisa.

Born on August 8th, 3:04 PM at a very healthy 8 pounds, 4 ounces & 21.5 inches. There was plenty of drama and action - Cord Prolapse! Emergency C-Section! Whoa, put the Gooey Oompa Loompa back in! Dad cuts the cord!
There was some comedy too - me dressed in scrubs and mask, fumbling for a camera to take the first picture (used my cell phone), and poor Lisa numbed up and loopy from all manner of drugs just along for the ride.

And now the whirl wind has swept us away from the hospital to the comforts of home. Our dog Jack is not sure what to make of the newcomer, but he's being good. Sniffing, whining, running in circles, jumping on everyone, following us (and Maddy) everywhere we go. The cat is pretty unfazed by the whole affair.

Our first night was uneventful and unpredictable. Just when we thought Maddy was on a feeding schedule, she shook things up with a two hour nap, snarfing down a bottle and then zonking out for four hours, up again for a bottle and out again for another four hours. Which leads us to this post.

OK, keep those cards and letters coming, and join us for the next episode of "Maddy The Jungle Girl" or "The Naked Maddy Band" or how about...
